This full-time position operates on the night shift, serving as a vital extension of the multidisciplinary healthcare delivery team. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will provide essential nursing care activities while helping to maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked patient care environment. Your role is critical in directing patient flow and supporting staff members to ensure seamless unit operations.
Your day involves a blend of direct patient care, monitoring, and environmental management. You will assist with patient admissions by orienting families to unit equipment and setting up monitors and alarms. Throughout the shift, you will support patients with daily living activities, including hygiene, nutrition, and skin care, while collecting necessary samples and documenting findings in the nursing database.
A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to monitor surveillance, where you must observe patient vitals and alert the RN immediately to any deviations. You will also play a key role in infection control by adhering to strict hand-washing protocols and cleaning equipment after every patient interaction. Beyond clinical tasks, you will foster a family-centered care environment, communicating effectively with the RN and team members to report changes, resolve conflicts, and participate in shared decision-making regarding unit issues.
We are committed to diversity and recognize the value of cultural and ethnic differences within our community. As a team member, you are expected to uphold the organization's core principles, demonstrating personal and professional integrity while maintaining strict confidentiality. We encourage a collaborative atmosphere where team members support one another, remain receptive to new ideas, and actively promote safety for patients, families, visitors, and co-workers.
To apply, please ensure you meet the required certifications, including CNA, EMT, or CPCT, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
