St. Luke's is proud of the skills, experience, and compassion of its employees, who are our most valuable asset. Individually and together, our team is dedicated to satisfying the mission of our organization: an unwavering commitment to excellence as we care for the sick and injured, educate physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, and improve access to care in the communities we serve, regardless of a patient's ability to pay.
The Patient Access Representative at our Macungie Care Now location is responsible for the entire scope of the registration process for patients seen at St. Luke's University Health Network, covering both outpatient and Emergency Department settings. This role serves as the first point of contact, ensuring an excellent patient experience from the moment they arrive.
In this position, you will greet and direct patients and visitors, providing friendly and courteous service to the community and co-workers. You will oversee and assist patients with Welcome Kiosk and "On My Way" technology, monitoring the arrival process and the patient's journey throughout their visit. A key part of your day involves promoting and increasing the usage of the MyChart patient portal to ensure patients are personally engaging in their healthcare.
You will act as a vital coordinator, communicating with SLPG practices, clinical/diagnostic departments, and revenue cycle teams to ensure clean claim submission and payment for services. This includes verifying insurance, obtaining necessary referrals and pre-certifications to decrease denials, and maintaining the integrity of electronic medical records by correctly identifying and validating patients. You may also be required to occasionally travel between campuses or regional locations to support network needs.
To apply, please complete your application using your full legal name and current home address. Be sure to include your employment history for the past seven (7) years, including your present employer. We encourage you to upload a current resume detailing all work history, education, and any applicable certifications or licenses. It is highly recommended that you create a profile at the conclusion of submitting your first application.
