St. Luke's University Health Network is proud of the skills, experience, and compassion of its employees, who are our most valuable asset. Individually and together, our team is dedicated to satisfying the organization's mission: an unwavering commitment to excellence as we care for the sick and injured, educate physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, and improve access to care in the communities we serve. This commitment holds regardless of a patient's ability to pay for healthcare.
The Patient Access Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients across outpatient and Emergency Department locations. This role is responsible for the entire scope of the registration process, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of electronic medical records. From correctly identifying patients and transcribing orders to verifying insurance and managing point-of-service cash collections, you will coordinate with clinical departments and revenue cycle teams to ensure an excellent patient experience and clean claim submissions.
In this position, you will greet and direct patients and visitors, providing friendly and courteous service to the community. You will also promote the usage of the MyChart patient portal and assist patients with Welcome Kiosk and "On My Way" technology to monitor the arrival process and patient journey. The role may require occasional travel between campuses or regional locations and cross-training in both outpatient and Emergency Department areas to support network operations.
