We've made a lot of progress since opening our doors in 1942, but one thing has never changed: our commitment to serve, heal, lead, educate, and innovate. We believe that every award earned, every record broken, and every patient helped is because of the dedicated employees who fill our hallways. At Ochsner, whether you work with patients every day or support those who do, you are making a difference and that matters. Come make a difference at Ochsner Health and discover your future today!
This position serves as the first point of contact for patients and guests, greeting them in a courteous manner whether via telephone or in person. You will initiate the scheduling of appointments and manage the check-in and admission processes. A key part of your day involves obtaining and verifying accurate identification and demographic data to ensure the integrity of the patient's permanent medical record, which is critical for accurate reimbursement.
You will be responsible for point-of-service collections and face-to-face interactions related to patient registration. This includes verifying insurance eligibility through electronic systems, telephone, or web applications. By consistently representing the company professionally and cross-training to support multiple functions across all patient and payer types, you will directly improve patient satisfaction. You will also balance cash drawers daily, prepare deposits, and ensure all required forms and paperwork are completed accurately.
