As the Patient Access & Health Information Management (HIMS) Supervisor, you will serve as a pivotal leader within the Patient Registration/HIMS department, reporting directly to the Director of Revenue Cycle. This role is designed to bridge operational efficiency with cultural stewardship, ensuring that our patients receive respectful, trauma-informed care consistent with Kewa Pueblo values and traditions.
In this position, you will provide day-to-day supervision and operational oversight of Health Information Management and Patient Access activities. Your day will involve managing medical records, document scanning, release of information, patient registration, scheduling, and insurance eligibility verification. Beyond administrative oversight, you will foster an environment of cultural awareness, ensuring that every interaction honors the community's norms and expectations. You will work collaboratively with clinical leadership, revenue cycle, and compliance teams to maintain the integrity of patient data and support accurate clinical documentation.

RHIT or RHIA certification. Prior experience working with Indian Health Services (IHS), a tribal health program, FQHC, community health center, or other equivalent medical setting. Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, and private payors. Bilingual skills in English and Keres native language.
