Inova Pathology is part of Inova, a national healthcare leader consistently ranked for safety, quality, and patient experience. We are proud to be recognized as a top employer in both the D.C. metro area and the nation. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional anatomic and clinical pathology services through a physician-led organization that fosters leadership opportunities and a collaborative culture.
We are seeking AP/CP board-certified pathologists to join our faculty. This role is designed for physicians who thrive in a dynamic environment where sign-out responsibilities, frozen section coverage, and on-call duties are shared among the team. The position offers the unique advantage of a centralized slide distribution system, enabling subspecialty sign-out and allowing you to focus on cases within your specific area of interest while maintaining a broad diagnostic scope.
In this role, you will handle surgical pathology sign-out for an active general service, including complex cases, frozen sections, and cytopathology. You will also oversee daily clinical laboratory duties across modalities such as blood bank, hematology, and chemistry. All system autopsies are performed at the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. The position offers flexibility with opportunities for full-time, part-time, and PRN roles across various facilities, shifts (day, mid, night), and specialty areas (inpatient and outpatient).
Applicants are encouraged to apply for current and future opportunities. The selection process involves reviewing credentials for medical staff status across all Inova pathology locations. Successful candidates must be able to obtain an unrestricted Virginia medical license and advanced certification in their applicable modality within one year of training.
Positions are available at multiple Inova facilities, including:
