We are seeking a part-time French teacher to join a vibrant World Language team comprising 6 Spanish teachers, 3 French teachers, and 3 Mandarin teachers. The World Language program is recognized regionally and nationally for its innovations, use of cutting-edge technology, and total immersion modern language classes. Notably, since 2015, the St. Luke's French program has been the only school in the USA to consistently hold the status of "AATF Exemplary French Program with Distinction," the highest national rank for French programs.
In this role, you will teach two sections of high school French, likely French II and Honors French II. The position offers flexibility for those seeking a part-time schedule within a rotating 6-day cycle. While classes meet four times per cycle for 60 minutes, preparation and grading can be completed at home. You will be expected to provide approximately two hours of extra help to students weekly and attend monthly department meetings. This role is ideal for an educator who desires to build authentic relationships with students and teach rich content through creative pedagogy.
New employees are required to attend a week-long orientation in August prior to the start of the school year. The interview process will focus on finding a candidate who demonstrates superb communication skills, confidence with educational technology, and a strong commitment to an equitable and inclusive school community.
