Part-Time Delivery Driver Opportunity
Join our team as a Part-Time Delivery Driver, earning $21.00 per hour. In this role, you are responsible for the safe delivery and pickup of containers to and from customer locations. Your primary focus is ensuring an incident-free operation while maintaining excellent rapport with our customers.
About the Role
You will drive and operate a commercial truck equipped with a patented lift mechanism to load and unload containers at customer sites. Safety is paramount; you must strictly follow all safety rules while handling the vehicle and equipment. Your day involves performing and logging daily pre- and post-trip inspections of both the commercial vehicle and the lift, as well as cleaning and inspecting containers to ensure they are presentable for delivery.
Beyond driving, you will utilize a company handheld computer for delivery verification and navigation, and you may be required to operate a forklift or overhead crane. You will coordinate rental paperwork and payments with customers and communicate with the Driver Lead or Market Manager regarding any questions or issues. The role also includes performing minor repairs on containers and lifts in the field or at the storage center, providing backup for storage center functions when needed, and maintaining the cleanliness of the truck cab.
Hiring Process
Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid CDL Class B License without air brake restriction. A current/valid driver's license and a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (or the ability to obtain a 1-year certification) are required to meet DOT standards. Successful applicants must meet PODS Driver Qualification Standards and be available to attend the required 2-week New Hire Driver Training Program.
