This position serves as a vital support within the educational framework at BayPointe, bridging the gap between academic instruction and therapeutic care. The role exists to ensure that students receive consistent, individualized educational support that aligns with their unique needs and the broader treatment goals of the program. You will work closely with teachers, behavioral staff, and the treatment team to foster a safe and productive learning environment.
In this role, you will assist in the daily implementation of lesson plans, guide independent study, and reinforce skills introduced by teachers or computer-based programs. A significant part of your day involves direct interaction with students, including reading, listening to oral communication, and monitoring progress through daily assignments and testing. You will also play a key role in administrative and liaison duties, such as maintaining classroom supplies, tracking attendance, and monitoring student adjustments to external school placements.
Safety and crisis management are integral to this position. You will be trained to recognize crisis states, de-escalate situations, and, when absolutely necessary, apply seclusion and restraint procedures in strict accordance with AltaPointe policies. The role requires physical agility to assist with Activities of Daily Living and to respond quickly to student needs, whether inside the facility or during outdoor therapeutic activities.
