This Paraprofessional role in Special Education is scheduled to begin in August 2026, running from August through May to align with the student session. The position serves as a vital support to classroom teachers and other support personnel, focusing on assisting with instruction and monitoring student progress through data collection and record maintenance.
You will work directly with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts and skills initially introduced by certified staff. This role requires a commitment to helping all children learn, offering flexibility to handle diverse populations with tact and diplomacy. You will be expected to interact with internal and external customers in a friendly and professional manner while maintaining a high level of confidentiality regarding student and staff information.
The day-to-day environment involves a full day of various physical activities, including walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. You will assist students during arrival and dismissal, supervise them during lunch and recess, and utilize educational technology to support learning. Success in this role depends on your ability to follow written and oral directions, maintain regular daily attendance, and actively participate in professional development and in-service trainings.
This is a full-time, non-exempt classified position reporting to the Building Principal.
