As a Paraprofessional (Autistic Support) at Brig. Gen. Anna Mae Hays Elementary School, you will work under the direction of certificated staff to support and assist in providing instructional, behavioral, and functional programs to children with disabilities. This role is vital to the Allentown School District's mission of educating students from 51 countries and 26 languages through academic excellence and culturally responsive practices.
You will be an integral part of a diverse community, helping to maintain a safe and orderly school environment while delivering personalized support. Your day will involve reinforcing lessons, implementing positive behavior support plans, and assisting with student transitions between classrooms, the cafeteria, and community-based instruction settings. Whether working one-on-one or in small groups, you will help students achieve their goals as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
