As an Engineer at our Chula Vista location, you will be the backbone of our physical property, ensuring seamless operations for our guests and team members. This role exists to maintain the highest standards of comfort and safety across our facilities, handling everything from complex HVAC and plumbing repairs to routine preventive maintenance. You will work with little to no supervision to resolve guest repair requests, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, and ensure all methods meet company, local, and national codes.
Your day will involve visually inspecting equipment, operating shut-off valves, and performing advanced repairs on air conditioners, refrigeration units, pool heaters, and electrical systems. You will utilize Lockout/Tagout systems for safety, manage maintenance inventory, and communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts. Beyond technical repairs, you will mentor other engineers, perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, and ensure all work is documented using our engineering computer programs. You will also embody our service standards by welcoming guests, anticipating their needs, and maintaining a professional appearance and environment.

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and vocational or technical background. Extensive experience and training in general maintenance, electrical or refrigeration, parts inventory and requisition, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting. At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience. Valid Driver's License.
Skills: Universal Chlorofluorocarbon Certification, Blue Prints, Electrical Schematics, Air Conditioning And Refrigeration, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Pneumatic/electronic Systems And Controls, Carpentry, Kitchen Equipment.
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
