Gaylord Hotels is rooted in expertise and leadership in meetings and experiences, intentionally delivering environments that bring people together in an extraordinary way. At the heart of our brand are our STARs—creative, entrepreneurial team members dedicated to providing thoughtful, big-hearted service. We offer opportunities well beyond a traditional hotel, providing endless career paths, unique extras, and a chance to belong to an amazing global team under the Marriott International umbrella.
As an Engineer at our Chula Vista location, you will be the backbone of our physical property, ensuring seamless operations for our guests and team. This role is designed for a hands-on professional who thrives with little to no supervision, taking ownership of complex maintenance challenges. You will respond to guest repair requests, troubleshoot intricate Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, and perform advanced repairs on everything from HVAC and refrigeration units to pool heaters and electrical switches.
Your day will involve a blend of proactive and reactive work. You will conduct visual inspections, operate shut-off valves, and manage maintenance inventory while ensuring all methods meet strict company, local, and national codes. A key part of your mission is safety; you will rigorously apply Lockout/Tagout procedures and maintain a secure environment. Beyond technical repairs, you will serve as a mentor, training and guiding other engineers, and stepping into Engineer on Duty responsibilities to manage rounds and readings. You will also embody our service standards by anticipating guest needs and assisting individuals with disabilities, ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to big-hearted hospitality.
To join our team, please submit your application highlighting your relevant experience in hotel engineering or maintenance. Candidates with a valid Driver's License and Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification are strongly encouraged to apply. The selection process focuses on verifying your technical proficiency in MEP systems and your ability to work safely and independently.
