The Outpatient RN CAP 1 position serves as an entry-level designation within the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). As a vital member of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) healthcare team, you will be accountable for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care, encompassing assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for an assigned group of patients.
In this role, you will participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities designed to enhance patient care outcomes and facility operations. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify expected outcomes, update nursing assessments, and ensure patients are aware of transplant and treatment modality options. Additionally, you will serve as a resource for the healthcare team and assist in the training and orientation of new staff.
You will work within a structured environment governed by Fresenius Kidney Care policies, procedures, and standards of nursing practice, alongside state and federal regulations. The role involves close collaboration with Supervisors, Clinical Educators, Preceptors, Team Leaders, and Physicians to ensure the safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy.
This position provides direct patient care in a healthcare facility characterized by air temperature control and moderate noise levels. The work environment may involve exposure to infectious and contagious diseases. Daily tasks include desk work, computer documentation, and interaction with patients, facility staff, and physicians. The role requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods, bend, and assist with patient ambulation.
