Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN

About the Role

The Outpatient RN CAP 1 position serves as an entry-level designation within the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). As a vital member of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) healthcare team, you will be accountable for providing and coordinating clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for an assigned group of patients. This role involves active participation in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities designed to enhance patient care outcomes and facility operations.

In this capacity, you will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to direct the daily provision of safe and effective hemodialysis therapy. You will perform systematic data collection and analysis before, during, and after treatments, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans while ensuring patients and their families are educated on their care, transplant options, and treatment modalities. Additionally, you will serve as a resource for the healthcare team and assist in the training and orientation of new staff.

Physical Environment

This position requires direct patient care in a healthcare facility environment characterized by air temperature control and moderate noise levels. The role involves frequent and prolonged standing, bending, and the ability to assist with patient ambulation. While equipment aids and coworkers may provide assistance, the position may require moving machines and equipment up to 200 lbs. and lifting chemical or water solutions up to 30 lbs. Employees may also be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases. The work includes desk and computer tasks, as well as potential travel to training sites or other facilities.
