The Outpatient RN CAP 1 position serves as an entry-level designation within the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). As a vital member of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) healthcare team, you will be accountable for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care, encompassing assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for an assigned group of patients. This role is designed to foster professional growth while ensuring the safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy.
In this capacity, you will participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities that enhance patient care outcomes and facility operations. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify expected outcomes, update nursing assessments, and ensure patients are aware of treatment modality options, including transplant considerations. The role also involves serving as a resource for the healthcare team and assisting in the training and orientation of new staff.
You will work within a structured environment governed by Fresenius Kidney Care policies, standards of nursing practice, and state and federal regulations. The team operates in a healthcare facility characterized by air temperature control and moderate noise levels, where collaboration with physicians, facility staff, and direct patient care staff is essential. The position offers opportunities for travel to training sites or other facilities as needed.
Candidates must meet specific practice requirements for the state in which they are employed, including graduation from an accredited School of Nursing and current state licensure. Successful completion of all Fresenius Kidney Care education and training requirements for new employees is mandatory. Additionally, candidates must hold current CPR BLS Certification.
