The Outpatient RN CAP 1 position serves as an entry-level designation within the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). As a vital member of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) healthcare team, you will be accountable for providing and coordinating clinically competent care, encompassing assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for an assigned group of patients. This role is designed to foster professional growth while ensuring the safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy.
In this capacity, you will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to make decisions, lead quality improvement activities, and enhance patient care outcomes. You will also serve as a resource for the healthcare team, participating in staff training and the orientation of new employees. A key part of your day involves educating patients and their families regarding their treatment plans, transplant options, and modality choices, ensuring they are well-informed partners in their care journey.
This position operates within a healthcare facility environment characterized by air temperature control and moderate noise levels. The role involves direct patient care, which may include heavy lifting, moving patients, and assisting with ambulation. You will frequently stand for prolonged periods and may occasionally need to move machines and equipment weighing up to 200 lbs. with assistance, as well as lift chemical and water solutions up to 30 lbs.
Your daily work will include a mix of desk work, computer documentation, and active interaction with patients, facility staff, and physicians. While the primary location is the clinic, the position may require travel to training sites or other facilities.
