We are seeking a detail‑oriented and patient‑centered Optometric Technician to join our eye care team. This role is designed to work directly with our optometrists to provide comprehensive eye care services, ensuring efficient workflow, accurate data collection, and an excellent patient experience. The position combines clinical responsibilities, patient education, and administrative support within a busy optometry practice.
As an Optometric Technician, you will be the primary liaison between patients and the doctor, greeting patients warmly and explaining testing processes in clear, understandable language. Your day will involve performing pre‑testing and entrance exam procedures, including automated refraction, glaucoma screening, visual fields, and advanced imaging. You will also prepare patients for exams by gathering thorough medical and ocular histories and educating them on contact lens hygiene and home eye care routines.
Beyond clinical duties, you will manage the operational flow of the practice by checking patients in and out, verifying insurance information, and maintaining accurate electronic medical records. This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods and handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining a positive, team‑oriented attitude.
Please submit a resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience in eye care, your familiarity with pre‑testing equipment, and why you are interested in joining our team. Send your application to irene@bvweyes.com or apply through this website.
We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates.
