About the Role
As a Lab Processing Assistant, you will be an integral part of the laboratory team, performing pre-analytic specimen processing and operating a variety of laboratory and office equipment. Your day will involve entering information and test orders into the laboratory computer system and responding to a high volume of phone calls seeking laboratory testing information. You will be responsible for ensuring correct patient identification on specimens and documentation, as well as resolving pre-analytic specimen-related issues.
In this role, you may perform complex reagent preparation, manage work unit supply inventory, operate automated systems, and provide training to others. You will work in a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to prioritize tasks, adhere to strict safety requirements for handling chemicals and infectious agents, and communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
