Northwest Permanente (NWP) is the largest multispecialty medical group in Oregon and southwest Washington, serving over 615,000 Kaiser Permanente members. Owned and led by physicians, our organization comprises board-certified doctors across 50+ specialties. We operate on a unique model where physicians earn competitive salaries without income tied to individual service volume, allowing us to focus entirely on patient-centric, collaborative care.
We invite applications for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Ophthalmologist to join our Kaiser Permanente Central Interstate team in Portland, OR. You will become part of an integrated, compassionate team providing a mix of Pediatric and Comprehensive Ophthalmology. As the primary Pediatric Ophthalmologist, the majority of your patient panel will consist of children, with some adult strabismus cases and general comprehensive call rotations.
This role offers a truly comprehensive practice within a connected healthcare model. You will manage a high volume of surgical cases and a higher acuity of disease, while routine exams and all refractions are performed. Additionally, you will serve as the Lead for Pediatric patients seen by our Optometry partners. Your schedule includes a half-day surgery block on Tuesday mornings and weekly rounds for Retinopathy of prematurity at the Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center NICU.
We are looking for team players who thrive in a supportive environment where business aspects are removed from patient care. Our practice utilizes the latest technology and an advanced Epic EMR to ensure seamless, efficient care across specialties. You will work alongside experienced support staff with a call schedule shared equally among all providers, averaging 4-6 weekdays and 4-5 weekends annually.
To apply, please submit your credentials for review. We offer a pathway for physicians to become shareholders of Northwest Permanente and opportunities for leadership positions within the medical group if desired.
