As an OPS Medical Disability Examiner, you will serve as a key member of a team dedicated to rendering independent decisions on Social Security Disability Insurance, Supplemental Security Income, and Medically Needy disability claims. This entry-level professional role involves researching, compiling, and analyzing complex data to determine evidentiary sufficiency for decision-making purposes.
In this position, you will manage a caseload using electronic case management systems, reviewing computer-generated alerts to ensure timely processing. Your day-to-day work includes securing medical evidence to document impairments, authorizing specialized diagnostic services when necessary, and composing formal decisions based on Social Security law rules and regulations. You will communicate effectively with team members and the public, utilizing strong verbal and written skills to establish factual medical and vocational documentation. The role demands the ability to work independently in a demanding environment while managing multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail.
This is an open competitive opportunity for a temporary position located in Miami/Dade County.
