About the Role

The Police Support Administrative Specialist performs specialized clerical duties within the Police Records Division. These specialists play a vital role in ensuring the Police Department runs efficiently and effectively, working in partnership with police officers, department staff, and the public.

The Department is hiring for two distinct positions: Police Support Administrative Specialist – Records and Police Support Administrative Specialist – Investigations. These roles are ideal for candidates beginning their careers in administrative support who crave keeping things organized and structured. Success in this position requires strong written communication skills and excellent customer service abilities.

Hiring Process

Candidates selected as top contenders will proceed through the following selection process:

  1. Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ): Top candidates will be invited to take Public Safety Testing's PHQ, which is pass/fail.
  2. Written Examination: Candidates who pass the PHQ will be invited to a written examination (passing score 70%; weighted at 30%).
  3. Oral Interview: Final candidates who have passed both the written exam and PHQ will be invited to an oral interview (passing score 70%; weighted at 70%).

Background Investigation Selected candidates must complete a comprehensive background investigation, including a polygraph, psychological exam, drug screening, medical exam, and extensive on-site review. The City of Redmond Police Department has strict automatic and discretionary disqualifiers regarding honesty, criminal history, drug use, and driving records.

Requirements
