This role resides within the Cybercrime Technology & Telecommunications Division of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), specifically under the Cyber Intelligence & Technical Operations unit. The team is dedicated to advancing criminal investigation strategies through the rigorous analysis of raw data and finished intelligence. By leveraging the Crime Intelligence Analyst Progression Plan, the division fosters professional development and strategic growth to enhance the state's investigative capabilities against technology-driven crimes.
As an OPS Crime Intelligence Analyst, you will independently research, review, and evaluate information to determine its value in furthering criminal investigations. Your work supports the drafting of cyber-focused intelligence products that target individuals, organized groups, government agencies, and business enterprises. You will apply the intelligence cycle to analyze current events, online postings, and crime trends, assessing how emerging technology impacts investigations.
Your day-to-day involves providing critical assistance to citizens, government agencies, and local law enforcement regarding computer crimes and investigative techniques. You will extract pertinent data from complex records to prepare concise summaries, worksheets, and investigative reports. Additionally, you may interview victims, witnesses, and potential targets, assist in drafting subpoenas, and accompany Special Agents on search and seizure operations. This position requires representing FDLE with confidence and professionalism while maintaining a deep knowledge of evidence and investigative leads.
The selection process for this position may include a work sample and/or an interview. Candidates demonstrating strong skills in critical thinking, analytical research, and the ability to develop and deliver presentations will be given preference.
