As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will be a vital asset to our Ophthalmologists, assisting in delivering excellent care to patients during their visits. This role is designed for someone who can handle a wide range of duties, utilizing specialized equipment to perform the initial testing required to prepare patients for an exam. You will be the first point of contact for many patients, greeting them warmly and ensuring they feel valued from the moment they arrive until they leave.
Your day will involve anticipating physician needs to facilitate clinic flow, verifying patient information, and recording detailed medical histories and current medications. You will perform critical diagnostic tests, including dilation, refraction, pressure checks, visual fields, OCT, and topography, while maintaining a working knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, and ocular medications. Beyond clinical duties, you will prepare patients for treatments, measure vital signs, and ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use. This position requires a high level of organizational skill to track patient care and a commitment to working over 40 hours, including weekends when necessary, to meet the business's needs.
