This position serves as a key operational leader within the Clerk & Comptroller's office, working under the direction of the Manager, Assistant Director, and/or Director. The role is designed to ensure the efficient and compliant operation of a functional area, division, or department. You will be responsible for analyzing and maintaining work flows, managing procedures for operational efficiency, and implementing quality assurance methods. The position requires a strategic mindset to identify operational needs, coordinate training, and develop individual development plans for new hires while cross-training experienced team members.
In this capacity, you will oversee department productivity and quality of work, managing business processes to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. The role involves monitoring workflow volumes, assigning work to teammates, and reallocating resources as necessary. You will also play a critical leadership role in team development by mentoring, training, and coaching staff, as well as evaluating performance and managing time and attendance. Additionally, you will serve as a liaison with outside agencies and stay current with legislative changes to ensure the department remains aligned with evolving laws.
The work environment is primarily indoor, located at office sites in Dade City and/or New Port Richey, with occasional travel required for meetings or training. While the work is typically sedentary, it demands high mental acuity, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a highly demanding work environment effectively.
