The Distribution Designer is the bridge between design conception and construction for our electrical systems. In this role, you will ensure the successful delivery of distribution projects, line extensions, and assigned initiatives, balancing cost and reliability for both overhead and underground designs. You will work closely with construction staff to survey existing facilities, develop electrical designs, and compose necessary contract agreements and easements.
Your day will involve collaborating with developers to plan residential, commercial, and industrial developments using least-cost principles, while resolving complex design issues. You will serve as a key point of contact for a diverse range of "customers," including retail clients, contractors, and internal teams, requiring you to effectively handle relationships and balance competing priorities. This position demands a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently, even while operating under supervision. You will also play a critical role in storm situations, providing support for the restoration of system outages.
We are dedicated to building a workplace with people of all different kinds and backgrounds. If you are excited about this role but your experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway; you may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
Green Mountain Power is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are committed to fair and open hiring practices and consider qualified applicants regardless of background.
