Be part of a team dedicated to making a difference in the lives of residents every day. Together, we shape a brighter future for our community by ensuring the safety and compliance of our local infrastructure.
As a Residential Mechanical Inspector, you will play a critical role in the construction process within the City of Meridian. Your mission is to verify that residential mechanical installations adhere to City, State, and adopted codes, including fuel gas, energy, and all current ordinances. You will exercise technical judgment and discretion to ensure structures are built in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
This is an independent field role where you will make sound decisions on-site, providing pass/fail notifications through specialized software and electronic handheld devices. You will serve as the primary point of contact for projects from permit issuance to completion, collaborating with the Mechanical Inspection Supervisor and Building Official to manage project scope and final approvals. Your work ensures that heating and cooling systems, ducts, piping, and ventilation meet rigorous safety and efficiency standards before certificates of occupancy are issued.
Candidates must possess valid work authorization in the United States that does not require employer sponsorship. The City of Meridian is unable to provide visa sponsorship at this time.
