The City of Boise is seeking an HVAC & Fuel Gas Inspector to transition from the jobsite grind to a career defined by stability, impact, and community protection. In this position, you will leverage your trade expertise to ensure that residential, commercial, and industrial HVAC and fuel gas systems are installed correctly and built to last. You will serve as the final authority on quality, conducting independent inspections, reviewing mechanical plans, and guiding contractors and homeowners through complex code requirements.
This role is designed for both senior-level inspectors and journeyman-level candidates. If you hold an active Idaho Journeyman HVAC license, you are encouraged to apply. The City supports your professional growth by assisting you in obtaining necessary ICC certifications as you advance.

Associate's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field; five years of experience in building systems and codes, governmental, or third-party mechanical and fuel gas code inspection experience; Mechanical plan review certification from the International Code Council (ICC).
