The Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) interprets the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, evaluates nursing education programs, issues licenses, investigates complaints, and maintains the nursing assistant registry. The Board also provides testimony to the legislature and administers competency evaluations to ensure the safety and health of Oregon's nursing workforce.
Imagine joining a team of passionate professionals dedicated to upholding the OSBN mission to protect the public through regulatory excellence and promote the wellness of nursing professionals. As an Operations and Policy Analyst, you will play a critical role in fulfilling the vision of a safe and healthy Oregon by analyzing emerging state and federal nursing policies, drafting administrative rule changes, and participating in legislative activities.
In this role, you will research bills and regulations, evaluate their alignment with current Board policies, and lead research projects to summarize findings. You may serve as a subject matter expert on practice concerns if you possess nursing experience, and you will represent the agency at cabinet-level meetings and before the state legislature. The position offers a productive environment where you can collaborate with IT personnel to develop compliance reports and contribute to public education resources.
OSBN is actively working to build an equitable agency free of racism, discrimination, and bias. We believe that teams where everyone can show up as their full authentic self are key to creating a thriving workforce. We welcome members of historically underrepresented racial/ethnic groups, women, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and LGBTQIA2S+ community members to apply.
We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are looking for individuals who believe that providing excellent customer service builds and sustains a culture of respect for both the public and nursing professionals.
To be considered, you must submit a Cover Letter (limited to two pages) and a Resume via the online application system. Please ensure your materials clearly demonstrate how you meet the minimum and preferred qualifications. Only complete applications received by the deadline will be considered.
