The Operational Planning Analyst will support the United States Marine Corps Forces, Central Command (MARCENT) and its subordinate commands under a five-year contract. Based at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, this role serves as a critical component of the Plans and Policy Directorate (G-5), advising the COMUSMARCENT on joint-level and service-level planning.
The position operates both within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS). The analyst will engage in complex planning efforts ranging from deliberate planning and crisis action to force deployment and strategic policy generation. This includes supporting Information Operations, Special Technical Operations, security cooperation, and operational assessments for the U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR). The role demands a deep understanding of the interrelationships between Middle Eastern states, religions, and ethnic groups, as well as the structures of US Embassies and command relationships.
Day-to-day activities involve providing bilateral operational planning analysis, drafting MARCENT responses to USCENTCOM planning products, and ensuring all plans reflect the proper deployment of Marine forces. The analyst will participate in bi-lateral and multi-lateral planning conferences, attend CENTCOM Battle Rhythm events, and provide in-progress reviews to the MARCENT Commander. The role requires the ability to travel on less than 24 hours' notice to support personnel recovery and training for forward-deployed forces across the CENTCOM AOR, including countries such as Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq.
