About the Role

The Operating Engineer is a pivotal team member responsible for the critical operating activities of our heat pumps, chillers, water treatment systems, and facility equipment. This role is designed for an individual who thrives with a high degree of autonomy, managing daily plant activities while ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

In this position, you will conduct preventive and repair maintenance, serving as the primary point of contact for supervising maintenance service contractors and vendors. Your day-to-day responsibilities include facilitating safe work execution through lockout/tagout procedures, managing facility access, and coordinating the support services and utilities necessary for equipment maintenance. You will be the first line of defense in responding to off-normal conditions, assessing issues at production facilities, distribution networks, or customer buildings, and working toward rapid resolution.

Safety is the cornerstone of this role. All tasks are conducted in strict compliance with local, state, and federal safety and health regulations, company policies, and programmatic standards. You will work in a dynamic environment involving steam, hot water, and chilled water plants, where awareness of potential hazards such as high-pressure steam, moving machinery, and chemical handling is essential.
