About the Role
This new position supports the Chippewa Valley Schools mission to ensure the best possible learning experience for special education children in a safe and secure environment. As a Special Education Aide, you will work directly alongside teachers to foster an inclusive atmosphere where every student can thrive.
You will be the dedicated support for individual students, small groups, or the entire classroom. Your day involves partnering with teachers to implement instructional activities in reading, writing, math, and life skills, while also managing student behavior through established plans and Crisis Intervention and Prevention (CPI) techniques. Beyond academics, you play a vital role in attending to personal needs, including hygiene and toileting, and assisting with the physical movement of students, including transfers and the use of mobility equipment.
Work Environment
This role operates in a moderate to loud environment typical of a school setting. The position requires physical agility and strength to assist students with various needs, including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 90 pounds, as well as assisting with bus transportation and field trips. You will be expected to maintain composure and adaptability in a high-demand setting while ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
