This position serves as a dedicated support partner for teachers and students within the Chippewa Valley Schools Special Education program. The primary mission is to ensure the best possible learning experience for special education children in a safe and secure environment while strictly maintaining confidentiality. Working under the direct supervision of teachers, the role focuses on facilitating individualized academic and life skills development.
You will work closely with students to assist with academic tasks, instructional activities, and personal needs, including hygiene and toileting. A significant portion of the day involves implementing behavior management plans, utilizing Crisis Intervention and Prevention (CPI) training to de-escalate situations, and monitoring student progress. The role requires active participation in data collection, professional development, and clear communication with staff, families, and the community. The environment can be high-demand and potentially stressful, requiring the ability to maintain composure while physically assisting students with mobility, transfers, and field trips.
This position is effective for the 2025/2026 School Year, replacing Jenny Sanchez-Jones. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have required experience working with children. While experience with special education students is preferred, the district is committed to finding qualified individuals who can meet the essential functions of the job.
