As an Oncology Med Surg Registered Nurse, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with departmental requirements and state standards. You will act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision to ensure outstanding patient experiences and positive clinical outcomes. Working within established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage," you will collaborate closely with medical providers and the care team to provide personalized care.
Your day will involve assessing patient conditions during admission and each shift, promptly identifying and reporting changes in status. You will perform procedures and monitoring as ordered, administer medications while monitoring for therapeutic responses, and ensure thorough documentation. A key part of your role is educating patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications, translating complex terminology to ensure complete understanding. You will also respond promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating needs to resolve them effectively.
