About the Team

The Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center is a 60-bed inpatient psychiatric facility dedicated to providing comprehensive, timely forensic evaluations to determine pre-trial competency and criminal responsibility. We also deliver quality, integrated care to support individual recovery through ongoing psychiatric treatment.

Our vision is an environment committed to preventing restraint and seclusion, where leadership and staff model compassion, caring, and hope. We strive to recognize individual strengths to foster self-determination, promote physical health, and help individuals forge lasting community alliances for a fulfilling life.

About the Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Office Support Specialist II to support the Social Work Department, including admissions, discharge, and forensic liaison functions. This role involves performing both routine and complex administrative, secretarial, and clerical duties.

In this position, you will manage complex coordination, data management, and tracking. You will compose reports, create graphs, and handle word processing tasks while supporting clinical staff through scheduling meetings, distributing notices, and maintaining accurate records. You will serve as a key point of contact for the admissions intake process, ensuring legal information from court clinicians is distributed appropriately and that Universal Referral Packages are compiled and sent to community providers.

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with weekends off.

Hiring Process

First consideration will be given to applicants who apply within the first 14 days of the posting. A criminal background check will be completed on the recommended candidate as required by regulations prior to hiring. Education, licensure, and certifications will be verified in accordance with Human Resources Division guidelines.

If you require a reasonable accommodation during the application or interview process, please contact EOHHS Candidate ADA Requests. For general questions regarding this requisition, contact the Executive Office of Health and Human Services Human Resources at 1-800-510-4122 Ext. 4.

Equal Opportunity & Culture

The Commonwealth is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, national origin, veteran status, or any other basis covered by appropriate law. Females, minorities, veterans, and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Research suggests that qualified women, Black, Indigenous, and Persons of Color (BIPOC) may self-select out of opportunities if they feel they do not meet 100% of the job requirements. We encourage individuals who believe they have the necessary skills to thrive to apply for this role.

Vaccination Requirement: Title 101 CMR 23.00 requires certain agency staff to have received the COVID-19 and Influenza vaccinations, or have taken required mitigation measures, to prevent viral infection and transmission in State Hospitals and State Congregate Care Facilities. Successful candidates will be required to acknowledge and attest to their vaccination status for both.
