About the Role
Encompass Health Corporation, a leader in both facility-based and home-based patient care, is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. This position involves working in various settings, including inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and possibly supporting patients in home health scenarios.
You will work under the supervision of an occupational therapist to help patients across all ages regain, develop, and improve skills needed for daily living and working that are impaired due to illness, injury, or disability. Your day will involve assisting therapists in implementing treatment plans, guiding patients through therapeutic activities like stretches and exercises, and recording progress to report back to the supervising therapist. You will also play a key role in educating patients and their families on home programs and discharge plans, while maintaining equipment and ensuring treatment areas remain clean and organized.
