As a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) with Minds Matter, LLC, you will lead a therapeutic approach focused on the profound effects of brain injury on an individual's social, emotional, and physiological well-being. Your mission is to empower consumers to regain independence by developing skilled therapy goals that address balance, motor skills, posture, and cognitive abilities within the context of their everyday lives.
In this role, you will serve as the team lead for your assigned consumers, collaborating closely with families, caregivers, and other professionals to integrate employment, educational, and independent living goals into the therapy process. You will be responsible for implementing Minds Matter's philosophical principles, offering creative solutions to accommodate the consequences of brain injury, and supervising occupational therapy assistants to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care.
Your work takes place directly in the home and community, allowing you to observe and treat consumers in their natural environments. You will conduct comprehensive evaluations to analyze medical data and determine the most effective strategies for therapy. A significant portion of your day involves collaborating with consumers to set and achieve meaningful goals, while simultaneously educating families on brain injury strategies and progress.
You will maintain rigorous documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and letters of medical necessity, ensuring all records are goal-driven, concise, and factual. Additionally, you will provide ongoing supervision to occupational therapy assistants through weekly calls, monthly in-person visits, and telehealth sessions, reviewing their daily notes and providing constructive feedback. You will also assess needs for adaptive equipment and home modifications, promoting public relations for the program and maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
