In 2024 alone, the team delivered 8,412 babies, underscoring the high volume and critical nature of the care provided.
The program emphasizes collaboration and specialized support. Hospitalists have direct access to a wide network of specialists, including cardio-obstetrics, gynecologic oncology, maternal-fetal medicine, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, urogynecology, pelvic health, and women’s mental health providers. The team also partners with Norton Healthcare Belonging & Health Equity to improve care for underserved women across their lifespan.
Norton Hospital has been recognized as one of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals 2025 by Newsweek, a distinction awarded to facilities providing high-quality maternity care and an excellent childbirth experience. The facilities are supported by Level IV, Level III, and Level II neonatal intensive care units. Additionally, the Norton Children’s Maternal Fetal Medicine program performs over 23,000 visits annually, and the Maternal Opiate & Substance Treatment (MOST) Program provides prenatal care for women with substance use disorders.

The position is structured to support a flexible work-life balance while maintaining high standards of care. Full-time equivalent (FTE) 1.0 positions require a minimum of 77 (24-hour) shifts or 1,848 hours annually, with shifts and compensation prorated based on the specific FTE level.
