The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Carilion Clinic and the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine is a physician-led, multi-specialty healthcare organization. As the largest nonprofit integrated health system in southwest Virginia, the system includes 7 hospitals, 248 physician practice sites, and over 800 physicians representing more than 80 specialties. The department is home to 29 ACGME programs, including Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where this role is based, is a 763-bed academic and tertiary care facility. It serves nearly one million people throughout southwestern Virginia and holds the distinction of being a Magnet Hospital. The hospital features a Virginia State-designated Level 1 Trauma Center and a Level III Nursery, and is recognized as one of the most wired and wireless hospitals in the United States.
About the Role
We are seeking a full-time Academic Specialist in General Obstetrics and Gynecology to join a dynamic group of 19 other OB/GYN physicians and 9 Advanced Clinical Practitioners. This position offers a full-spectrum general obstetric and gynecologic practice within a vibrant community-based academic environment.
The successful candidate will balance excellent clinical skills with a strong enthusiasm for medical education, playing a key role in training residents and students. A faculty appointment, commensurate with experience, is available at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
