NYU Langone Health is a world-class, patient-centered, integrated academic medical center and one of the nation's premier institutions for excellence in clinical care, biomedical research, and medical education. Our Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology provides high-quality, evidence-based care to a diverse patient population within a large academic health system and high-volume obstetrics service.
We are recruiting for a Patient Safety Officer exclusive to the Manhattan campus (Tisch Hospital) and another for the Brooklyn campus (NYU Langone Brooklyn). Our team values collaboration, integrity, transparency, communication, and enthusiasm. We are deeply committed to advancing research, education, and the delivery of state-of-the-art obstetric care. Join a leading academic health system where clinical excellence, innovation, and patient-centered care are at the forefront of everything we do.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a full-time Senior Obstetrician to serve on Labor & Delivery and as a Patient Safety Officer. This hospital-based role supports two major campuses and joins an established team dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in a high-acuity, high-volume Labor & Delivery environment.
This is a leadership-focused clinical role with direct involvement in complex obstetrical care, real-time decision-making, and system-wide safety initiatives. You will supervise and actively participate in the management of anticipated complex and high-risk deliveries, including twin vaginal deliveries, hemorrhage, shoulder dystocia, and operative vaginal deliveries. The role involves managing labor response teams, running hospital-based codes for obstetrical patients, and providing real-time clinical consultation to the interdisciplinary team.
Beyond clinical duties, you will promote adherence to evidence-based obstetric protocols, participate in the review of adverse events and near-misses, and lead system-level quality and safety improvements. You will also contribute to trainee education and mentorship, oversee hospital-based Advance Practice Practitioners, and engage in clinical research and leadership development opportunities within a major academic medical center.
