The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is a nationally and internationally renowned group of faculty and staff dedicated to clinical care. As the state's only private medical school and health sciences graduate school, MCW is a major national research center ranking in the top third of U.S. medical schools in NIH funding. Academic medicine is at the core of everything we do, bringing together scientists, clinicians, students, and community members to solve complex challenges in health and society.
The General Obstetrics and Gynecology Division includes 26 faculty and staff physicians and 7 advanced practice providers. We deliver care across 12 diverse clinical settings affiliated with Froedtert Hospital, Children's Wisconsin, and the Zablocki VA Medical Center. Froedtert Hospital serves as a statewide referral center, featuring one of the only Level 4 Obstetrical Units in Wisconsin, directly connected to the Level 4 NICU at Children's Wisconsin.
Our beautiful, safe, and modern campus at the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center houses Froedtert Hospital, Children's Wisconsin, and other member entities that share a common mission of excellence in patient care, medical education, biomedical research, and community service.
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible physician to join our expanding Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology as an Academic Hospitalist. This position is based in Milwaukee, WI, at the Froedtert & MCW Birth Center and the Froedtert Emergency Department.
In this role, you will provide care to both high-risk and low-risk obstetric patients, manage emergent gynecologic conditions, and perform surgical procedures as needed. You will work closely with labor and delivery nurses, midwives, attending physicians, and other hospital staff in a collaborative, team-based setting that fosters professional growth. A key component of the position is engaging in teaching and mentoring residents, fellows, and medical students who are actively involved in patient care.
The hospitalist model offers a sustainable career path for experienced OB/GYNs, free from the demands of private practice. You will enjoy a predictable schedule with no on-call duties, allowing for full disconnection on days off to prioritize personal time, family, and wellness. The role features a balanced mix of weeknights, weekends, and holidays, with 12-hour shifts totaling 14 per month.
