We are seeking a General Gastroenterologist to join our practice in Phoenix, AZ. In this role, you will build a practice focused on the breadth of general gastroenterology within a 429-bed Academic Medical Center and its attached clinics. Beyond clinical duties, you will have the opportunity to supervise residents and fellows while serving as a faculty member for the Creighton University Medical School (Phoenix campus) Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship.
You will work alongside a comprehensive support network including General Surgery, all Surgical Subspecialties, Pathology, and Radiology. This position offers a unique blend of high-volume clinical practice and academic leadership.
Your primary location will be Chandler Regional Medical Center, a full-service, 429-bed acute-care and trauma level 1 hospital. The facility handles approximately 78,000 emergency department visits and 5,000 trauma activations annually. It serves as a primary stroke center and offers cardiovascular, cardiac surgery, and neurosurgery services. Our East Valley facilities collectively deliver over 7,000 babies per year, with anticipated growth following the opening of the Women and Children's Pavilion.
Dignity Health Medical Group is an affiliate member of the Creighton University Arizona Health Education Alliance. This partnership provides Creighton learners in Phoenix access to state-of-the-art facilities and world-class faculty. Through this collaboration, residents, fellows, and students gain essential patient-care experience in prominent Phoenix facilities.
Creighton University opened its Phoenix Health Science Campus in 2021, establishing a full Phoenix presence that includes a four-year medical school, accelerated nursing program, and various doctoral and master's programs. Located just next door to St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, this expansion ensures Arizona and Dignity Health Medical Group are contributing to the top-notch training of future medical professionals.
