Banner Health, one of the country's premier non-profit healthcare organizations, is seeking a Board Eligible/Certified Gastroenterologist to join the newly formed Banner Digestive Health Service Line. This service line represents a strategic partnership between Banner Medical Group and Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, designed to serve as a destination tertiary care provider for comprehensive, integrated digestive health.

The team encompasses a wide spectrum of services, including ambulatory GI, hospitalist services, inflammatory bowel disease, motility, complex foregut care, multidisciplinary GI oncology, and clinical trials. We also offer teaching and research opportunities through our affiliation with the University of Arizona.

As a GI Hospitalist, you will provide general GI inpatient-only care on a 7-on/7-off schedule (or 2 weeks on/2 weeks off where available), totaling 182 shifts per year. This role is supported by Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and a collaborative team across the greater Phoenix area, including established primary care referral sources.
You will work within a robust ecosystem where Interventional Endoscopy Services handle ERCP/EUS and interventional call, allowing you to focus on inpatient management. Outpatient subspecialists support complex areas such as IBD, Motility, Hepatology, and DGBI, while an outpatient APP recovery clinic ensures seamless follow-up for post-hospitalization patients within 1-2 weeks. This structure fosters a collaborative environment where experienced providers and new graduates are encouraged to apply.
The position is based at Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, AZ, a 388-bed hospital recognized for its premier orthopedic program and comprehensive acute care services. You will have the option to affiliate with the University of Arizona (Banner University Medical Group) for academic engagement.
