About CHI Health Good Samaritan
Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney, Nebraska. As an advanced level trauma center, we provide comprehensive care ranging from AirCare emergency helicopter transport and 911 ambulance services to specialized cardiac care, open-heart surgery, and a nationally accredited cancer center. Our facility also houses a Level II neonatal intensive care unit, comprehensive neurosurgery, an advanced orthopedic program, and the Richard Young Behavioral Health facility for inpatient and outpatient mental health services.
About the Role
As an OB Technician, you will serve as a vital member of the labor and delivery team, dedicated to maintaining a safe, sterile environment for birthing mothers and newborns. Your role is defined by compassionate support and the anticipation of patient needs, ensuring calm and positive outcomes during critical moments.
In this position, you will work closely with the surgical and nursing teams to assist with a variety of procedures, including cesarean sections, vaginal deliveries, and circumcisions. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve setting up tables and instruments, managing sterile techniques, and ensuring the correct count of supplies. Beyond the operating room, you will support patient comfort through regular rounds, environmental maintenance, and the performance of delegated nursing procedures such as patient baths and ambulation. You will also play a key role in the department's quality improvement efforts and the orientation of new staff.
