VCU Health Chesterfield Pavilion is a state-of-the-art, four-story facility located at 10031 Nash Road, bringing comprehensive, patient-centered outpatient care to one of Virginia's largest counties. Scheduled to open in April 2027, this 100,000-square-foot ambulatory surgery center and medical office building will consolidate surgical services, diagnostics, infusion therapy, pharmacy services, and innovative care models into a single, convenient location.
We are hiring team members now to help build the future of outpatient care from the ground up in one of Virginia's fastest-growing communities. This role is pivotal in establishing the operational foundation for a facility designed to provide a healthy, healing, and respectful environment for all patients, visitors, and staff.
The Nurse Manager ensures that excellent patient care is delivered by a nursing staff with sufficient number and competency to meet patient needs. You will provide quality customer service to patients of all ages, their families, visitors, medical staff, clinicians, and co-workers, ensuring everyone is treated courteously, quickly, and with respect.
In this position, you will establish and maintain an environmental control plan and coordinate materials management for the department while assisting in monitoring clinic activities. All day-to-day operations of the unit are handled independently, with leadership of staff and daily operational functions executed without prior approval. While you will seek advice and guidance from the Director on an as-needed basis for major impacts outside the unit, you will also collaborate with your supervisor on specific areas such as employee termination, grievance handling, annual unit goals, budget approval, and staff performance evaluations.
We are currently accepting applications for this role. Candidates must hold a current RN licensure in Virginia and a Bachelor's degree in nursing. Special consideration is given to those enrolled in baccalaureate-to-doctoral programs who may require more than 36 months to complete their terminal degree. Successful candidates will be expected to complete a master's degree program within 36 months of hire if not already enrolled.
VCU Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
