About the Role

This position serves as a Nurse Manager or Nurse Manager-Complex at Intermountain Health St Vincent Regional Hospital in Billings, Montana. The role is pivotal in managing and supervising nursing departments, acting as a bridge between nursing leaders, facility managers, and clinical staff. The primary mission is to ensure excellent patient care, achieve financial objectives, and foster leadership development within the unit.

The role is accountable for developing departmental structure, processes, and outcome standards. The scope of responsibility is divided into three key areas: 50% tactical (day-to-day activities like staffing and equipment availability), 40% operational (budget management, supply acquisition, and employee performance evaluations), and 10% strategic (aligning with the Intermountain/Regional Strategic Plan). The position distinguishes itself by scope: Level 1 managers oversee fewer than 50 staff or departments operating Monday through Friday, while Level 2 Nurse Managers-Complex manage over 50 staff, multiple departments, or 24/7 operations.

In this capacity, you will champion the efficient, effective, and compassionate delivery of nursing care. You will facilitate collaborative problem-solving, advocate for necessary resources, and promote shared decision-making. The role involves modeling an environment of professionalism and employee engagement while ensuring the integration of Intermountain's Healing Commitments and Healing Connections into all facets of patient care.
