At Nicklaus Children's Hospital, our mission is to provide the best care to every child. We are committed to supporting the next generation of nursing professionals by ensuring a successful transition from student to practicing nurse. The Horizon RN Residency Program is a structured on-boarding experience designed specifically for new graduates entering an acute care pediatric setting within our Magnet-designated hospital.
The Horizon RN Residency Program begins on July 20, 2026. This cohort offers opportunities in Ft. Lauderdale, Coral Springs, and our main hospital in Miami. The program is exclusively for new graduate registered nurses with no prior RN work experience. As a resident, you will manage and direct nursing care activities, coordinate care planning, and collaborate with clinical and medical staff to educate patients and families in a compassionate, family-centered environment. You will uphold the quality standards of a Magnet-designated hospital and the Patient Bill of Rights while navigating the complexities of pediatric care.
Due to the high volume of interest and limited positions, applications are accepted only from May 17th through May 24th. All candidates selected for this program must possess a valid Florida RN license (or multi-state including Florida) by July 2nd, 2026.
The selection process is as follows:
