Southcentral Foundation (SCF) is established to serve a primary population comprised of Alaska Natives affiliated with the Cook Inlet Region Inc. (CIRI), as well as Alaska Natives and American Indians within SCF's geographical service area. The organization's mission and vision center on working together with the Native community to provide the best services, grounded in the belief that Native staff who value family and family wellness are the heart of the community.
The Nurse Manager leads the new Crisis Residential program, a critical initiative designed to support the community's mental health and wellness needs. In this role, you will assist in the planning, implementation, and training phases of the program while working closely with operational and clinical leadership. You will provide nursing leadership, clinical input, and consultation to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality customer care in accordance with organizational policies, program-specific procedures, and applicable laws.
Beyond administrative oversight, you will provide direct clinical care and clinical oversight, functioning as a mentor and resource for the department's nursing staff. Success in this position requires a thorough understanding of the cultures and needs of CIRI members, as well as the general culture and needs of Alaska Natives and American Indians. This cultural competency is essential to achieving SCF's mission of serving the community with dignity and respect.
Under P.L. 93-638, as amended, SCF pursues a policy of Native preference in hiring, contracting, and training. SCF Human Resources must receive certification before applicants receive this preference.
