About the Role

Adventure West Council, Scouting America, is seeking a self-starting and motivated District Manager to lead a designated area covering Boulder County and south Weld County. This role is pivotal in sustaining and growing the Scouting mission by recruiting, promoting, and supervising local volunteers to achieve youth participation and fundraising objectives.

While a Scouting background is not required, the ideal candidate will be a people-oriented professional who excels at building relationships, enjoys sales and marketing, and is comfortable with public speaking and interacting with diverse audiences. You will serve as a vital link between the volunteer board of directors, community leaders, and business partners, inspiring them to become involved in the organization.

Day in the Life

In this position, you will work collaboratively to identify, recruit, train, guide, and inspire volunteers. Your focus will be on growing and retaining youth membership, starting new Scouting units, developing programs through collaborative relationships, and meeting fundraising goals. Success in this role requires providing quality service through timely communication, organizing regular meetings, and leading training events and activities.

You will be expected to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, to achieve positive objectives. The role also involves traveling for a week-long training at least once a year and attending multiple conferences. A valid driver's license is required, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools is essential for daily operations.

Hiring Process

Offers of employment are subject to criminal, reference, and motor vehicle background checks. Candidates must be willing to accept and meet Scouting America's leadership and membership standards, including subscribing to the Scout Oath and Law.

Equal Opportunity

Adventure West Council is committed to diversity and inclusion. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background and are dedicated to maintaining high ethical working standards.
