The Sales Support Investment Consultant acts as a pivotal product and sales coach for field advisors, serving as a deep subject matter expert on complex case consultations. This role is designed to integrate every aspect of a sale, from precise financial planning to strategic product selection, ensuring recommendations align with a prospect's unique circumstances, current holdings, and regulatory landscape.
You will function as a bridge between technical financial concepts and practical sales execution. Your expertise spans Northwestern Mutual's full investment suite—including Annuities, Brokerage, Advisory products, and Trust services—as well as diverse financial planning areas like IRAs, educational savings, and qualified retirement plans. The core of your mission is to guide advisors in building effective practices by weaving together IRS Code, Treasury Regulations, product features, and competitive analysis into clear, needs-based solutions.
Your work is a dynamic blend of high-level strategy and direct field engagement. You will drive advisor engagement by delivering education and training on complex financial concepts through various channels, including inbound phone consultations, scheduled case reviews, webinars, and in-person events at Network Offices.
As a featured speaker, you will present to advanced audiences, such as field leadership and senior management, on planning, product, and market trends. You will collaborate across departments to align with organizational goals, serving as a liaison for various regions and product teams. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to analyzing prospect statements and competitor products to provide strategic advice on taxes, retirement, and investments. You will also contribute to feedback loops that shape the future of sales support activities, ensuring the team stays current on regulatory changes and emerging technology solutions.
